walking in the city

White Ribbon Campaign @ Ryerson

I spent all day at the "What makes a man..." conference at Ryerson U.

They had an impressive line-up of speakers--Mohawk and Oneida performer/activists; men's health workers; queer activist and sociology professor Dr. Alan Sears; dub poets; the founder of the 'Black Daddies Club; and a host of other awesome presenters. All the while, a graphic recording artist* illustrated the talks and Q&A sessions.

Later on, some of the guys presented their digital stories from the media workshop back in the autumn.

I'm exhausted and totally inspired by the conversations that are only beginning. Have a super weekend.

* I've just heard of this. Gotta find out more about it. It's so cool.
