True Grit (and a pinch of madness)
A wet, windy, cold and dreary day for the Wokingham Half Marathon. This was husband's first ever half marathon and so there was a certain amount of tension as we waited in the cold and drizzle for the call for the start. I managed to catch him with my camera at the start and at the end of the race. He made it round in 1 hr , 49 mins and was very, very pleased to have made it below 1 hr 50 (his target). The photo is of him sprinting towards the finishing line with about 30 m or so to go (he's the one on the right!).
His plan is to run three half marathons over the next few months and to also raise some money for the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research. The next challenge is the Reading Half-Marathon in about a month's time.
