The Cherry Picker

Big fire in the next street last night, and at least seven engines coming from miles around. A terrace of very old house, and the suggestion is that the fire started in the roof of one of the houses. Reports tell of rats running away down the street. Most of the action was before midnight, and some of the pics are on Welchgate fire We went back again after midnight to see the follow up. By then a huge cherry picker was occupying the whole road, and had just finished finally extinguishing the remaining embers. Apparently it looks a bit messy in daylight. No one hurt, thankfully.
