Hard work and rewards
But these are mini chocolate rice crispie cakes, because I remembered I'd spotted a bar of chocolate in the cupboard and had a lot of cheap rice crispies in a tub. It is quite astonishing just how many crispies a single bar of melted chocolate can cover. I was going to do a proper foodie montage but Steve singled this picture out for special treatment :)
Church this morning, got there and everybody was a bit surprised to find the room we usually use at the school full of props for a drama production so quick change of plan and back to the sports hall. Then the projector broke so another one had to be drafted in. Once technology had caught up we got on with things. Playing went well, I think, I got a lot of lovely comments for my singing/playing after which was nice! Thanks to the lovely DI box (that I mention a couple of days ago, with its lovely simply words on it) I managed to plug everything in myself. Bass, cab, mic, all. Pleased as punch! Ok so I plugged one of the bits into the wrong bit in the stage box but hey. Nearly. One day I'll get it ALL right.
Lunch - um. Cereal.
Tea - well.... was meant to be a chicken dinner but I got a bit obsessed with the design of the new website so it didn't happen and we had ravioli on toast instead. I'm HUNGRY now. Chicken dinner tomorrow instead.
But on the plus side I've done quite a bit of door dentistry and dug a whole pile of nails out of Ben's door, and managed to get a coat of undercoat on both sides. (Without getting any paint on the floor.) That was the hard work and rewards: door dentistry is tricky, and was actually less time consuming than I expected it to be. But once it was done I was rewarded with painting time which I don't get to do enough of. Yay :)
AND I've got a basic website done, just needs a bit of tweaking - I've got the design element sorted out anyway, which will make creating flyers and business cards a lot easier.
And what has Ben done today? Been pretty amazing. Just did his own thing while we set up at church; settled easily in creche and apparently chatted on for ages to one of the girls there; did his own thing (yeah yeah we're doing that benign neglect thing again!!) while we packed down; nearly fell asleep on the way home and nearly fell asleep once we got home but just didn't. Then it was a TV afternoon with daddy while I messed about on the laptop. And bed absolutely shattered but still lovely, wanting lots of daddy cuddles.
