Eggs Through the Post!

We have once again, another of our hens gone broody. Tried all the usual stuff to try and make her forget about it, but hens being hens she has well and truely gone! They seem to go into a sort of trance/hibernation. It is a pretty wonderful sight to see. That is, until you try and get the china eggs that she was trying to hatch out from under her.

Then as quick as can be she starts pecking at your hands. Luckily I had Laura and Pam to help me. So I lifted her off the china one's and they took them out and put the new one's back in the nest.

Because our old cockerel is firing blanks now, I decided to get some off ebay and I was able to get them for about £5.00 delivered through the postal system.

I went for a pot luck of varieties, so I am getting excited about our new stock. It will only take three weeks for them to be hatching (we hope). I will try and get some photo's when the little chicks are hatched.
