Castle Crag 951ft

We took the short walk from Theatre by the Lake, Keswick, by the edge of Derwentwater, to get this shot of Castle Crag.

Wainwright says:- If a visitor to Lakeland has only two or three hours to spare, poor fellow, yet desperately wants to reach a sumit and take back an enduring memory of the beauty and atmosphere of the district........let him climb Castle Crag.

There was fresh snow on the higher fells today, and there were heavy 'April Showers' in Keswick.

Yesterday's lambs were Texels, rather than the true Cumbrian Herdwick sheep. They were the first lambs of the year around here so I thought they were worth a blip. Herdwick lambs may feature on another blip as soon as I see some. They are born almost black. They turn brown after a year, then they turn grey/white after three years!

Did you spot Chloe in today's blip?
