Love is...
Had a great day meandering around the countryside.
We had gone over to Balfron last night and returned home today. We took a lovely detour , rain and hailstones teeming down then glorious sunshine didn't stop us in our quest to find the Loup of Fintry . Just after the bridge at Balfron you take a left and wind your way up a fairly steep country road, then head towards Fintry which is a lovely wee village in the middle of nowhere. Then onwards and upwards towards Lennoxtown , we missed the turning towards Denny ( mainly because I wasn't absolutely certain of the road and I had read the directions about 6 weeks ago ) Anyway , after retracing our steps back to the Denny road it was back to the steep and curvy uphill road: fortunately for us our eagle eyed grandson spotted the tiny sign for the Loup in a field.
So out of the car and a trek over the hill and down the hill and up another wee hill and we were rewarded by the wonderful sight if the Loup of Fintry ,an amazing waterfall , must be at least 90 feet high , will find out on google.
The day was too grey to get a decent shot but we went back down hill and tried to see if we could get to the bottom of the waterfall: no chance , too many trees and dense undergrowth , then the hail stones battered us so it was back up the track to the car.
We'll go back on a better day.
So we then had the usuual drive up loch Lomond , wonderfully misty and magical with the Ben shrouded in low lying cloud. Then round Loch Long , up the Rest and round Loch Fyne.
Back home John had a bouquet of flowers in the dining room so off course I just had to get out the camera. here is one of the flowers and if the weather doesn't improve , I reckon I might just be taking more flower sots over the next few days.
