Trigony House 2

Leaving this morning in torrential rain.

This sculpture is by Jennifer Watt and sits in the side garden of Trigony house

The hotel was a private house until the mid 80s when it was converted and has been run by the present owners, Jan and Adam Moore, for about 10 years.

With its open fires and family run atmosphere , this is a really welcoming place.

The food is outstanding. In the past few days we have had leek and tarragon souffle, goats cheese and caramelised red onion tart, wood pigeon breast on black pudding with puy lentils, breast of Gressingham Duck with ginger and marmalade jus, braised rabbit , roe venison on parsnip and celeriac puree with port and juniper jus; and for dessert, vanilla and rose water panna cotta with roast rhubarb, chocolate and cinnamon mousse, orange and orange blossom creme brulee, Hunters Pudding with brandy custard; and a selection of Scottish cheese, including Cairnsmore eyes cheese form Newton Stewart, Dunsyre Blue, Criffel, Loch Arthur semi-soft from New Abbey, and Loch Arthur Mature Cheddar.
