Life as I live it

Nondescript house in Walton

driving home today I took a slight detour. The white house is where my nan lived from the 1930's & my dad grew up. From my childhood I remember a high wall where the open land now is with a railway running across, which made the street seem much darker. I remember a pair of wooden elephants with a gong in the hallway, an outside toilet, no bathroom & tin soldiers stuffed into the back wall which my dad had put there in his childhood. He hasn't been past for nearly 30 years, too many bad memories for him. Its strange how a commonplace house can hold so much emotion.
