Old school
Shall I leave you to work this out or shall I tell you?
When I took my walk away from the office today I came across a wonderful old school bike; shiny black frame with long white front and rear mud guards (made of metal), 3-speed gears, original handle bar styling with a wicker basket attached to the front, non-clip pedals, a stretched skirt protector covering one quarter of the back wheel and a wide comfy seat with springs beneath.
I took heaps of photos exploring shapes, lines and angles. The bike made me wonder; who rides it?, how far does sh bike?, is it a more sedate and relaxed ride?, does she wear a skirt and make the most of that protector? and what does the basket carry? It's an elegant machine. We see very few of these modern classics but mostly it's flash road bikes and mountain bikes.
This is the most abstract of all the shots I took and it appealed to me the most. You can make out some down tube of the frame, a bit of the back wheel and the skirt protector reflecting bike reflectors catching the sun on other bikes parked in the bike stand.
I'm off to bed. A neighbour went AWOL late last night (a long story) and a local rattler rocked on through and woke me up at 5.15am.
