Stair with Festoons

This is the main stair in one of the blocks of flats I am currently building in Edinburgh.

The lighting is being provided by the old style festoon lighting with bare bulbs rather than the new style previously blipped here Festoons

The new style were environmentally friendly, but rubbish. The old style are not so friendly, but do illuminate the stair and wont be thrown in the skip like the other ones.

How environmentally friendly does that make either of them?
