Here's Michael from Edinburgh mobile library service, snapped in Craigmount View, Corstorphine. He used to park from 6.30-7.15pm in the nearby precinct but redevelopment put paid to that. The new enforced location means fewer people who need the service can reach him, which is a shame.

A fall in user numbers is just one more excuse for the council to pull this free lifeline ... it's not just about books, it's about contact too, a friendly face on a lonely day.

So if you see one of the four units around, join up! Love the books!
