New Growth

I live in a block of 6 flats in centre of the city. A few years back i planted a tree that grew well and quickly without any attention. However most of my neighbours hated this tree that filled the carpark with lush green and shade in the harsh summer. The birds loved this oasis. So they cut it down just before summer - this very hot summer. Today I noticed this little sign of new growth. I am sure it will be chopped out but in the meantime welcome this last conversation with my beloved tree.
