Island in the sun
As tradition for the week schools start here, the weather has been beautiful for the last few days. Today was picnic day, when those of us still enjoying holidays traipsed to the Botanical Gardens, lapped up some sun (safely: with hats, sunscreen and in the shade), ate lots of food and threw things around to get rid of the wasps. Well that was one friend. He threw a roast chicken.
Saw True Grit too, pretty good! I like good westerns with dubious good guys and even worse bad guys, and this one ticked all those boxes. The worst that could be said of it is that it's just entertaining, but I thought it was a little more than that. Couldn't understand half of what Jeff Bridges was saying, but it didn't really seem to matter.
Seems a cool change is on its way (not that it's really been super hot), the clouds have successfully loomed beyond the mountain, and it feels like rain is on the way. Probably won't be much rain though - our sky is very good at squeezing a few drops out, then beaming proudly about it.
