Difficult Times

This is the headquarters of Auto Windscreens, the second largest windscreen repair and replacement company in the UK.

On Valentine's Day the firm went into administration, putting over 1100 jobs in jeopardy, of which 400 are in my home town of Chesterfield.

Chesterfield MP Toby Perkins told the Commons:"The loss of these jobs would be catastrophic to an area already set to be the worst-hit in Derbyshire by the cuts in public sector jobs."

It must be an truly awful time for the workers and their families and I dearly hope that a buyer can be found for the business and the jobs of those at Chesterfield and up and down the country can be saved.
