This is my life/work skills group project.

It's probably going to be the most elaborate "kairty" ever.

2 of the 3 junior gents have worked very hard on this. High quality materials. The only kart in existence made from solid oak flooring that was donated to the school. Probably worth a fortune but potential was spotted and all their own work, with a little guidance from myself.

The group is great. Young, inexperienced but dead keen. This is the progress after about 4 hours work. I'm pretty proud of them considering the technology on offer to kids and they seem to be getting lots from it. We are now talking about lights and a stereo. It's going to be big enough for 2 seats side by side. The boys want a steering wheel! We can try but currently "influencing" the traditional rope method.

No doubt the maiden run will be blipped! One of the best classes I've had in my 5 years at the school.

Times like this that make the difficulties melt away for an hour! For all of us. Pity we only get an hour a week, but then again it might not be the oasis it's developed into if it was more regular! Whatever it is.....it's working for them.
