Five things

I dreamt about you last night

1. A day that started with a meeting in a proper office block in an area of town filled with many, many other proper office blocks. People are wearing serious separates with serious cars parked in underground places and Costa coffee shops on the 7th floor. I don't work in that kind of place, I take the train and I wear stuff to work that isn't very serious. Taking what you do seriously and being seen to be serious can be two very different things.

2. Finally getting round to buying frames for the Folksy art I bought four months ago. I have shopping lists as long as my arm and it's good to strike a few things off.

3. My brother's play went very well. Someone I know said it restored her faith in theatre. Compliment indeed, I thought.

4. Back to Clockworks for midweek pints and two assorted plates of brown and a small plate of brown on the side. This pub has 3D football but we have found the one table that is football free. Home to watch the very much on form Charlie Brooker.

5. This picture is an embroidery of a lyric from Reel Around the Fountain, a Smiths song that I love. That's not true, I love two verses from it and they are on my internal jukebox pretty regularly, the rest of it is a bit too Smithsy for me. The line before this was pinched from A Taste of Honey. I like that I have gone from having posters of Morrissey blu tacked on my wall to having embroidered lyrics in posh frames in the space of 20 years.
