I wondered lonely as a... swan

This swan has over stayed it's welcome but it is yet to flee the nest. Nearby Mum and Dad have already begun the new courtship and glide effortlessly round their pond. Other offspring have long since flew off in search of pastures new.

So why does this solitary swan remain?
