Happy Valentines Day!

Had lots to do today. unpacking and five loads of laundry due to the snow play/soccer weekend. Also spent a lot of time planning the weeks menu and grocery shopping. Had to pick out a nice meal to make for tonight considering it's Valentines Day :) I'm making my family their favorite --- meatloaf, Paula Deen's cottage potatoes and a strawberry salad.

By the time I was done unloading the groceries it was time to get Loren from school. He has minimum days all week due to Exhibition week. After picking him up we headed to Landon's classroom to help with their Valentine's party. It was bittersweet to walk by Liam's class and not participate in his party :( I had a morning discussion with Liam, reminding him that I had been there for all of his "firsts" in his classroom and since it was Landon's first Valentines party I wanted to be there for that. They were both planned for the exact same time. He said he understood and it was perfectly fine, but I always have a whole lot of mommy guilt, probably for no apparent reason!

The kindergarten class started in a line with their bags of goodies to pass out and went from desk to desk. It's amazing how the 'snake' line ended up out of order and with kids forgetting who they gave candy/cards to and who they didn't. Loren and I walked from desk to desk trying to help the kids see if they accidentally doubled up on cards, especially since some kids got to the end and ran out before they should have! When they were done distributing....they went crazy tearing into their cards, candy and cookies right away. I know this is why the teacher's plan these parties at the end of the day so that they can send the 'sugared' children home to mommies and daddies. ha ha

At night after making dinner (and Landon applying a temporary tattoo to his forehead)....we enjoyed it over candlelight. The boys found it fascinating, since that was a first in our house. They gobbled it down and opened their little treats from us. A little box that included a heart full of Skittles, $5.00 to Cold Stone, a pack of Trident and a dog-tag type necklace for each of them.

MY BLIP PHOTO IS OF LOREN AND LANDON IN HIS KINDERGARTEN CLASS DURING THE VALENTINE'S PARTY. HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!
