had loads of RAF helicopters from RAF Shawbury bombing around today. i caught this one dashing between the trees around my work area.
i think they are trying to make the most of what little flying time they have left as the goverment are kicking 30 of the units pilots out in the cutbacks.
its bad news for the airfield and surrounding infastructure, as with the pilots going so do the familys.
ground crews will also be cut back because there will be less aircraft flying and less maintenance required.
around the airfield, business firms who rely on these folks will also find the knock on effect will hit them it time.
grim times ahead.
