Shifting Perspectives

By the right, quick march

Popped out to the Ecos Centre around teatime today. The Ecos Centre is a fabulous development in Ballymena, funded by the Lottery Millennium Fund, designed to raise awareness of all things environmental and home to a huge variety of wildlife in the nature park.

This, if I'm not much mistaken, is a white-fronted goose. "Where's the white front?", I hear you ask. This is a fair question. I am of the belief that this is probably a youngish white-fronted goose, whose white front has not quite developed yet. The white front develops around the top and side of the beak (or is it a bill?) and I think there is some evidence of some emerging white just to the top of the beak/bill. Anyway, if anyone can confirm or otherwise, I'd be happy to be informed.

This will not be my only blip from the Ecos Centre, I'm sure.
