Old and new

We practiced all day today, getting the patter and skills straightened out for conducting effective primary surveys. I got to figure out two: a simple congestive heart failure patient and one with a broken pelvis and femur.

Stupidly, I seemed to forget that there is such a thing as a scoop stretcher. Using one is the prescribed best practice for loading a patient with a pelvic fracture. It was definitely a 'duh' moment.

Scoop stretchers split apart, allowing you to slide under and pick up a patient without moving him or her. Perhaps a subject for a future blip.

Today's blip, however, is one of history and renewal. There were some lovely colours on display in a storage tent at the Academy today. Old is red, new(er) is yellow. Newest is red again (but not stored in this tent).
