TUSCAN HILLS
Last spring, when I was young and innocent, I used to get into the car with my rinky-dink camera and we would go off up into the high hills. We saw villages and things never seen before. My pics were fair but never in good focus, the colour was not quite right and I always vowed to do better next time. Then somebody suggested a better camera might help, a DSLR. I had no idea what a DSLR was and the idea of a serious camera was laughable. One week later I had one. I was overjoyed to get things into focus but I soon discovered the kit lens was very limited. It is not quite spring again yet, but by now I have two cameras, four different lenses and a tripod.
Today, I got into the car with a tripod and two cameras. I didn't take the tripod out of the car but I did use both cameras. Somehow, the rinky-dink camera days seemed very carefree.
This is the last pic I took. I would love to live up here where the air is cleaner but oh, my goodness, it is a long way to a shop of any kind. The people who lived up here 70 years ago were almost entirely self-sufficient. World War II ranged all through these hills and life up here changed forever. Our house is down to the right, not visible in this picture.
Yesterday, some took me too seriously. I am prone to making fun of myself and even more fun of Himself. I am quite used to perilous roads and people being hauled out of ditches, including Himself.
For the record: Sun, breezy. + 15 C. Sunrise: 7:12; sunset 5:53. Humidity 55. Peace and quiet at the homestead.
