Just five minutes

We watch the mountain for our weather, and can rely on there being very quick changes. Today's been no exception. The wind has been buffeting the house and trees all day, with showers coming and going every few minutes. The changes happen so quickly the sun and showers are out of sync, with sunlight brightening the rain clouds and clouds dimming the blue skies. As I write this, my view is of glaringly white misty rain, the wind is howling around the house, but I know that in a minute or two, the blue sky will be back with its pretentions of warmth and sunshine. The truth is, the wind has a bitter edge, and there is the hint of autumn in the air.
