Sluice Gates

These old gates would be opened to let water from the river Dove into the mill fleam (Thats a flume to those of you in and around Frome) The mill in question was an old alabaster/Gypsum mill.

The frightening thing to me when looking at these old gates is the fact that i remember them when they where in use!!!
