Ok, so I know I've blipped money before, and recently, but this time it's for a different reason.

Blackhorse.... are doing my fricken nut in!

I have a couple of credit cards, and a couple of overdrafts. The last few years have been tough, financially. Things are much better now though, and I don't want to be paying minimum payments that aren't clearing anything, so I thought it would be a good idea to get a loan, use it to pay off the other bits, and repay that. Simples.

Yet my bank declined me. As did another. This struck me as strange, as the only credit I had was what I was looking to replace, and I didn't have a bad repayment history. So I decided to check my credit report. Only to find that Blackhorse were claiming that I still owe them over 10 grand for the car I returned in NOVEMBER!!!!

Clearly less than impressed... that 10 grand was clearly the reason nobody would give me a loan. Experian provide a handy tool that lets you forecast your credit score... with the 10 grand gone, it made my credit score good again. GRRRRR!

I've phoned them... the guy sounded helpful. He told me what I already knew... that they couldn't close the account because my car hadn't been sold on again yet... He also agreed when I said that shouldn't affect my ability to get credit elsewhere, and that although the account might need to stay open, my credit report should show that I owe them nothing. He had to email another department and told me he'd phone me back. It's Sunday, and I'm still waiting.... <<sigh>>
