Flash Mob
Flash Mob: THE FREEZE
3000 people have signed up to participate in this event.
We will leave in small groups at intervals headed for the Square. Take over all sidewalks at every corner, spill into the square itself. Spill over can go into businesses.
5:25pm FREEZE!
5:30pm When our 5 minutes is over, wander off casually as if nothing has just happened.
TIMING:
Turn your cell phones to vibrate. The first alarm indicating freeze time is to be 5:25. The alarm indicating that it's time to unfreeze goes off at 5:30. If you don't have a time piece of any sort... DON'T WORRY. There are going to plenty of us to watch for visual cues. PLEASE BRING CELLPHONES! ITS EASIER TO COORDINATE TIMES!
(Thank You)
To Consider:
Try holding a pose for 5 minutes. It's not easy. Pick something you can manage.
Keep your valuables locked down. You're gonna be a prime pick pocket target for 5 minutes
This event should be videotaped.
If there are so many of us that we're the only visible thing happening on the street, consider being a "fluffer", acting shocked and amazed at all this weirdness (also a good option for those who wanna see this but don't wanna participate).
Invite friends, the more of us there are the better the visual impact.
Go Green! Walk or Public Transport!

This was so cool. I've always wanted to see something like this. There was an episode of 'Modern Family' when everyone at an outdoor mall suddenly starting dancing to music with the same choreography. A Flash Mob. We can say that we have been to one now.
We met our good friends downtown for this. Parking was beyond difficult. They say that 3000 people signed up to participate in this event. I believe it. Downtown was packed. The busiest that I have ever seen it. Our daughter rode on my husband's shoulders and I my son's hand. We had to stick together, there were 'Flash Mob'rs' everywhere. Nice, excited and friendly people......mostly young twenty somethings......ready to make the 5 minute freeze happen. And never before have I seen so many photographers in one area. The number of fancy camera's were too many to count.
We sat up on the steps of the square and had a great view of the FREEZE. Someone yelled out the 15 second call and then suddenly, the city went quiet. I mean initially, if you closed your eyes, you would think that the central city square was empty. And then the 'woohooo'rs' came weaving and running through. Pretty much have to count on the fact that a small of people are going to be the 'anti freezers' trying to get the 'freezers' to stop freezing. It was pretty funny. Very entertaining. And luckily very peaceful. After the FREEZE, people broke off and created large circles for the break dancers and flippers. Our son loved that. This was such a memorable event and we all decided that our next 'Flash Mob' will involve song and dance.
'THE FREEZE' was followed by some of the best Hawaiian food ever at the best Hawaiian restaurant in the city.
