Saltburn Victorian Pier, 142yrs and counting

Built in 1869 Saltburn?s Victorian pier was the first iron pier to be built on the North East Coast, is the most northerly surviving British Pier and the only remaining pleasure pier on the North East coast. The pier cost £7500 when it was built!!

Britain's Victorian piers are disappearing and some are being allowed to fall in to disrepair. These piers are a part of our heritage that should be protected for future generations to enjoy.
