The big flasher
Yesterday I promised to show my homemade ring flash, well here it is. It was not in any way my idea I simply copied this instructional guide with a few minor changes.
It consists of an old ikea lamp shade with a solid pipe stuck through the middle of it, the flash then fires up into the lampshade and out at your subject. I bolted it all together with some aluminium flat bar.
The flash is a yongnou yn460 (very cheap from ebay) and I used a cheapo poverty wizard flash trigger (also very cheap from ebay).
The camera mounts to that bolt on the flat bit of the bar and you shoot through the solid pipe.
All in all pretty simple to build but more importantly, very cheap too with some cool results to boot.
