Quiet Blipper

Fireside

P and I spent most of the day today, Sunday, cleaning up the property after the winter storms. Large fir branches everywhere. The wind was still, the day bright and sunny. It was perfect.

Many shots of the fire and so hard to choose. Almost posted one that reminded me of Whistler's Nocturne in Black and Gold: The Falling Rocket which took its motifs from Cremore Gardens, a pleasure park with an elaborate fireworks display at night. lots of sparks against a dark background. However, I loved what the heat and smoke did in this image. Another impressionist type image, more like Monet perhaps in its softness and palette.
