Wonderful thank you letter from our 4 1/2 year old grandson after Christmas (no it isn't new, I've been saving it for an emergency blip):

At the bottom his mum wrote:
'Cameron had no help writing this at all and it was his very 1st attempt at a letter. Apologies for the rude 1st line!'
