View from the Bastion

Saturday in Budapest and a 100th blip.

This is Jon looking out from the Fisherman's Bastion to the Parliament in the background.

The architecture in the city is big, solid and imposing. Buildings stretch in all directions, and perhaps most interestingly the homes are all different. Even along the same street you won't find two houses of the same design.

On the whole the city always gives me the impression of having grown out of the ground, grey and substantial. The downside is that maintenance is not a strong point and on closer inspection some buildings are showing signs of neglect and damage.
