(Auckland) peace before the (Christchurch) storm
On my run this morning it felt good to be alive. I enjoyed the crisp morning shortly after a shower had cleaned the air. On the boardwalk beside Cox's Creek I spotted this scene and was delighted with my picture of reflections and a traffic cone. Idyllic, really.
Then this afternoon someone came to the office door to ask for help getting into her property and told me of the Christchurch earthquake. The remainder of my day has been spent feeling horror at the forces of nature, and yet having to respond as always to the people who came to see me.
I need to go now.
