People are falling from the sky!

Spotted this man in this pose on a walk at lunchtime. I was walking through Herbert Park and I took a few pics of him from behind. I then headed off. I soon realised I should have taken a photo of him from the front, I was disappointed in myself for not doing it. I went onward in any case to the shop, queued and bought a sandwich. I walked back the same way and the man was still there! I couldn't believe it so I proceeded to walk in front of him I began snapping away. No response from him. He must have been there for at least 30mins, maybe more. The thought that he was dead passed through my mind. Could this happen?
