A bit of a grown up book this one, the kind a parent might recommend, but kind of intriguing, especially with what's going on in the Arab states at the moment.

More of an inictment of radical Islam than a page turning thriller, but there is a bit of a storyline that plods along between the characters' views on whether women should wear a headscarf or not.

Not surprised Mr Pamuk has been exiled from Turkey, as there's plenty of religious controversy if you're looking for it. It's all just kicking off so maybe there's even more to come..
