The One Ring

Back in Wellington on the North Island we joined a small tourist group on a trip through the town visiting the local LOTR filming location and re-enacting some of the scenes. Our enthusiastic guide even had brought all necessary props - this one being probably the most important one ;-).
Afterwards, we spent the evening in the city centre waiting for midnight. We were deeply disappointed: no fireworks at all. Only drunken teenagers and lousy street performers. That's not what you would expect from a capital city - even less if you consider they are the first to celebrate the new year...
