The ferry dock

Today we got all sorts of warnings about the impending weather between Seattle and the Gulf Islands, so very reluctantly we packed up and left a day(or 2) early. Thinking about being stuck on the island with possibly no power and subfreezing temperatures with these three wild little kids was a big factor. :-) It was hard though as it was a beautiful clear but very windy day - this is the beach near the ferry dock on Galiano Is. where we spent some time waiting for the 5:30 ferry- kids got very wet playing with the waves. They were disappointed to have to leave (as were we). It better snow like crazy tomorrow for us to feel good about this decision! I will say that we did drive through some bands of blizzard conditions in Washington state on the way home, alternating with dry pavement, but only a dinky amount of snow in Seattle. But more is predicted including VERY cold temps. We'll see...........
