Spinning

The other day. Fay (daughter) and Jen (wife) were dicsussing the fact that the earth spins.

Fay had read at school that the earth spins slowly. Jen advised her that the earth spins fast.

When the adjudicator was asked (me) I said that the earth spins fast - in response to which Fay said: 'I know'

For information, at the equator, the earth spins at 1040 miles/hour - which you will agree is fast.

At the poles, it spins very slowly. But I'm not going to explain that to a 4 year old!!!
