Jewish Museum, Berlin

The memory void - this is the work of Israeli artist Menashe Kadishman. He calls the installation 'Shalekhet' or 'Fallen Leaves.' It has 10,000 faces, made from metal, covering the floor in dedication to all innocent victims of war and violence.

As people walked across the floor there was a very eerie nose. It was really lump in the throat time. It became darker and darker the further you walked back into the space.

The building is incredible; there are very few windows and the building is the shape of a lightening strike. Architect Daniel Libeskind created empty spaces in several parts of the building. These so-called voids extend vertically through the entire museum and represent the absence of all Jews in German society.
