Cheap Street, Frome
I was out and about early this morning, as I had to take the car in for a service.
This is Cheap Street. The water comes from Frome's Holy Well which I blipped two days ago. Usually, the whole length of the rivulet is covered by advertising signs which spoil the view, but as I was there before most of the shops had opened, only a couple had been put out.
There are already several empty shops in Cheap Street, and two more are due to close next month. According to a new survey, Frome has just under 25% of 'retail vacancies', the highest number in the West Country.
This isn't as sharp as I would like - I was trying a photo taken from low down and also trying to avoid including too much sky, so I was probably focussing on the paving stones ... or wobbling!
