Respite

We've spent the day at T's Mum's place in Kaiapoi. A chance for a bit of relief from the clean-up and to have a shower, flushing toilets, charge phones, etc. First time I've been able to read a paper or see pictures of the devastation on the news. Though I was in the city centre when the quake occured, and experienced it first hand, it was still a shock to see just how extensive and destructive the quake was. Now that we've had a bit of a rest and stocked up on non-perishables, we'll head home tomorrow to continue the clean-up. Hopefully the electricity will be back on. The boys enjoyed spending time with their Nana and Great Nana - and vice versa! They also welcomed the opportunity to watch Cartoon Network. Two days without TV...torture!!! :D
