Do the right thing......

.....despite sore temptation, I did the right thing and went to my induction meeting for my new role in Scouts tonight. I've been accepted into a Training Adviser role where I'll be responsible for training other adults to become warranted leaders in the movement. The alternative was several beers and whiskies with a group of blip chums.

I was hopeful I'd be able to combine the two events tonight, but as I post this entry, I'm still in the Scout Hall listening to a 'motivational' speech about the benefits of leader training....it speaks volumes of the orator that I've taken a photo of my sleeve badge and I'm uploading it, instead of listening to their yak yak.

I've no choice but to persevere.
