Me da
I have blipped my father a few times before. He has been battling Alzheimer's for more than a decade, its a shocking disease. If there is one bit of advice I would give, it is to organise a nursing home for the person as soon as the disease sets in. Its impossible for untrained people to deal with it, no matter how good intentioned you are. They always say write a will but another important thing between couples is power of attorney, it can save a lot of problems in the end. It frightening how many people in their forties and fifties now have the disease.
Anyway that aside we had a good time together. I got two of his friends for him, Arthur Guinness and John Power and we whiled away the afternoon in The Greville Arms Hotel in Mullingar
