A Very Special Visitor, Lancashire

This Great Spotted Woodpecker has been a very elusive visitor to the garden. Today has been the first time he has been caught on camera - not a perfect photograph, alas, but the brilliant markings of these birds make for a stunning sight. He had a good feed and I very much hope he returns again soon, and maybe brings his other half with him...
