Ethylene Cracker KG

....not an oil refinery as widely reported, whenever there is a story concerning the nearby oil refinery they invariably show a shot of KG A lot of my work is closely related to this piece of kit, and yes there are people that will be able to pinpoint each bit of kit and where all those pipes go. When I started working here over 20 years ago getting to know the kit took away a lot of the mystery.


Techy note, managed a better shot than this shot. Turned the IS off, used NR in camera, mirror lock up and focussed on the hyperfocal..... and turned my head torch off..... oh and a I used an ND4 filter, proper hardcore landscape photographer...ahem....
Much more pleased with this. My next trip to the mountains is on a full moon so I'm pleased I'm moving forward with this. I've got plans for that, all I need are clear skies, can't be that hard a want in Scotland surely?

This most definitely looks better big.
