Brave Man!
Today was another day for meandering, this time not on foot, but in the car. We headed off to Oban for a hospital appointment, with the sky looking promising but bu the time we reached Inveraray it was overcast and Loch Awe was shrouded in low lying mist most of the way up. By Taynuilt the rain was coming down in torrents and stayed like that for most of the day. After we came out of the Lorne and Islands Hospital the sky had quite a bit of blue among the clouds and some sunshine, hurray!!!
We headed along the pier and spotted this very, very brave man in his canoe in the middle of a turbulent Oban Bay . He was obviously in training as he was doing all sorts of exercises and just before I took this shot of him he had completed an eskimo roll , whic for the uninitiated means doing a complete 360 degree turn by rolling over to the left ( or right if preferred ) head first into the water while remaining in the canoe and coming up the other side . You can see the water dripping of his forehead. I remember doing this many years ago in June and the water was really cold even at that time of the year.
