Ilam Gardens

One way to get away from the horror of the TV and the news of what has happened in Christchurch since the large earthquake on Monday the 21, is to take Amber for a walk.
I am sure she also likes getting out of the house that rumbles and shakes many times in the day.
Ilam House in these gardens is roped off, and it has some large cracks in the structure, but otherwise looks normal. This is the case in many places you do not see the damage at first glance.
It was very quiet, calm and peaceful in the gardens.
