Library Day!

Once a month the mobile library trundles down to the village to see us! It's an excellent service and well used. It goes round the various outlying parishes of Orkney on different days of the week. We are all working on the same principle - use it or lose it!

It is usually either Betty or John who are driving it, and they stay for about half an hour, chatting to folk, discussing our choice of books and making suggestions perhaps, giving us ideas of what we might enjoy and any new books. They also collect batteries for recycling and have a notice board of local events and information. I just hope that in the current council cut backs they don't think they can sacrifice it - we are on our guard!
