Wobble
Some days blip is about the photo, other days it's about the words.
It's 9 weeks off the Peru trek that I'm doing to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and yesterday another bundle of info arrived.
There's so much to think about/do:
- raising the rest of the money
- the faff and expense of flying from Heathrow
- finding a sleeping bag that weighs nothing, goes to minus 10, but doesn't cost £300
- training
- how I'm going to fit all the kit in my luggage
- the flights (I'm trying so hard not to think about them)
- the other 59 people on the trek and wondering which one I'm going to be sharing a 2 man tent with
- etc., etc.
Eek.
I'm posting this as a reminder to myself that I'm doing this because I wanted a challenge, I wanted to be pushed out of my comfort zone and it's a once in a lifetime experience, that will raise money to help people living with cancer.
I had wobbles before my walking trip to Romania and big wobbles before I did the Trans-Sib, so I know I'll be fine and dandy and wobble is just something that I do before a trip.
Oh and apparently I need to take a platypus with me. I'm guessing that's not one of the 'duck-billed' variety ;-) And according to the info pack, high altitude can affect the menstrual cycle? WTF?! No one ever mentioned that in my physiology lectures....!
