Reading in the Party Room

Little Brother has a basket of board books in his room. Some passed down from big sister and cousins, some new gifts. This weekend, Big Sister has been reading these books like crazy. It has been a great way to spend time together, even while the baby and I are feeding. She reads aloud and I help when needed. These books seem to perfectly fit her reading trajectory. Little Brother has a big room (comparatively...our house was built in 1910 or earlier) and we are all in it sometimes, so it has been nicknamed, the "party room."
